Our Rooms for You
The rooms at Nido dei Gufi were designed with great attention to detail. Comfort and good sleep are our top priorities: all beds are equipped with high-quality mattresses and extra toppers. Various pillows and fine bed linen sweeten your dreams.
Each room has a private bathroom with a shower and toilet, fluffy towels and a hairdryer, air conditioning, WiFi, and TV. Of course, there is also plenty of storage space.

For those who enjoy a bit more space: our two spacious double rooms (approx. 25 sqm) with a king-size bed and direct access to the sun terrace. Views of the terrace or the park. A third bed can be added.

Our Personal Tips and Favorites
400 meters from the house lies the world-famous Lago di Garda (Lake Garda), lovingly called Benàco by the locals – at 370 km², the largest lake in Italy. The lake stretches from the foothills of the alpine landscape in the north to the Mediterranean south and connects the three Italian regions Trentino (north), Veneto (east), and Lombardy (west), where we are located.
Toscolano-Maderno has its own ferry station that takes you to all the well-known places around the lake. As one of only two connections on the lake, it is also a car ferry (to Torri del Benàco).
At the lake, you will find spacious lawns for resting and sunbathing. The pebble beach makes the lake wonderfully clear and gives it its distinctive color. As of 2023, the entire lakeside promenade has been accessible to cyclists and pedestrians without interruptions from start to finish – a wonderful walk in front of a breathtaking backdrop.
Toscolano and the surrounding area have countless great restaurants. Here are my absolute favorites:
• La Cucineria – Two minutes’ walk from Nido. Run by the charming Linda. My tip: fish and seafood!
• Sant’Ercolano – The best pizza in town. About 15 minutes on foot.
• Cucina Collini – Great bar for an aperitivo. Three minutes away. You can tell it’s also a catering service by the great and plentiful tagliere. Cin cin!
• Gatto Giallo – Pizza, pasta, meat, fish, vegetarian. Everything your heart desires.
• La Foce – Right by the lake. Either for an aperitivo or for dinner. My tip: spaghetti with seafood for two.
• Il Boccone – Wonderful atmosphere. Seating in the restaurant, in the courtyard, or outside in the little alley. About 10 minutes on foot. My tip: grilled octopus.
• Il Pieroli – A bit further away (Gardone Riviera, 15 minutes by car). Fine dining (at fair prices). My tip: Fiorentina steak.

Bus Stop
The nearest bus stop Toscolano Scuole Medie (No. 461089) is 250m from Nido and is served by two bus lines (LN027 and S202-1) all day.
Ferry Station
The ferry station (including car ferry) Autotraghetto Maderno – Torri is located at Via Lungolago Giuseppe Zanardelli 28.
Doctors & Hospitals
All common medical practices are directly in Toscolano. The nearest hospital is in Salo (15 minutes by car).
Arrival
The “Nido” is located in the Centro Storico, the historic center of Toscolano, right next to a cozy park. Restaurants and cafés are just around the corner. It’s less than a 10-minute walk to the beach (through the park and straight ahead).
Our address is Via Trento 91b, 25088 Toscolano-Maderno. The gate entrance for parking with the car is around the corner on Via Canossi. Our route planner will lead you directly there.

With the charming little B&B on Lake Garda, my husband Heiko and I have fulfilled a dream that I would love to share with you: A cozy nest with a large colorful garden where warmth and hospitality are are key priorities. Hidden away, just a stone’s throw from the lake and yet far from mass tourism.
Make yourself comfortable and let me serve you with a delicious breakfast before you start your vacation day with some great insider tips. In the evening, you can discover the incredibly delicious and diverse cuisine of “Bella Italia” in the surrounding restaurants. I’m happy to recommend my favorite places, tailored to your tastes. Do you prefer to stay in the beautiful garden? You will surely find a cozy spot for a picnic or an “Aperitivo Italiano” here.
